ENGLAND'S Ashes heroes are to be celebrated on stamps, the Royal Mail announced today.Dim ond deuddydd mae hi wedi cymryd i'r Post Brenhinol nodi buddugoliaeth Lloegr yng nghyfres y Lludw yn erbyn Awstralia - un wlad yn chwarae un wlad arall mewn criced. Pa hyd y buasai'n rhaid disgwyl i nodi unrhyw fuddgoliaeth neu unrhyw beth arall Cymreig mewn stampiau? Os dwi'n cofio'n iawn dim ond prin roedd deng mlynedd o rybudd ddim yn ddigon i gael coffadwriaeth i Glyn Dŷr ar y stampiau swyddogol.
The special set of stamps - including the 68p one needed to post a letter to Australia - is expected to go on sale in the next few weeks, but which star players will feature is still unknown.
Royal Mail made a commemerative issue after England’s Rugby World Cup triumph in 2003, and when London was named as the host city for the 2012 Olympics in July.
Spokeswoman Julietta Edgar said: "England’s victory in this summer’s Ashes series certainly counts as a momentous occasion, making it an ideal topic for a set of Royal Mail special stamps.
"I’m sure the public will love using these stamps every day to continue the legacy of this sporting achievement."
